WilmerHale is pleased to welcome Jeannette Boot as a partner in the firm's Securities and Corporate Departments. Ms. Boot will supplement the firm's practice related to hedge funds and derivatives and other complex financial products.

At WilmerHale, Ms. Boot will initially expand the firm's representation of hedge funds, other institutional investors, and corporate clients in the negotiation of various agreements with counterparties, including prime brokerage, term commitment, ISDA, repurchase and stock loan master agreements and transaction documentation with respect to various equity, credit, fixed income and hedge fund-linked derivatives products. She will also counsel dealers and hedge funds on a broad range of derivatives, structured products, and trading arrangements.

“We look forward to the expertise that Jeannette brings to the firm, not only for the expertise she brings to the Corporate and Securities Departments, but also because she will work with our tax, ERISA, and bankruptcy teams to contribute to the firm’s ability to provide well-rounded service for our clients,” said Bill Lee and Bill Perlstein, WilmerHale co-managing partners.

Ms. Boot was general counsel at Och-Ziff Capital Management Group, a global asset manager of multi-strategy hedge funds and managed accounts. Before that, Ms. Boot was counsel at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, where she worked in the Equity Derivatives and Financial Institutions Groups. Her practice focused on a wide range of derivatives, structured products and trading-related matters, and included representation of many of the world's largest financial institutions and hedge fund managers.

Ms. Boot graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School with her J.D. and received a B.A., summa cum laude, from University of California, Berkeley. She was a law clerk for the Honorable José A. Cabranes, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
