Firm Receives Human Rights Community Award

The firm received a "Human Rights Community Award" for its pro bono efforts on behalf of the World Organization Against Torture at the 1999 Human Rights Day Community Award Luncheon, held December 10, 1999, on Capitol Hill. P.J. Mode, Maura Griffin, and former firm associate Shelby Quast have assisted the organization by providing legal research in connection with the implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Torture. The award was noted in a Legal Times "Pro Bono Bulletin Board" piece, in which Maura was quoted (January 3, 2000, p. 14).
