Forbes Names Sonal N. Mehta to Its Inaugural List of America's Top Lawyers for AI

Recognition

As artificial intelligence reshapes how companies innovate and compete, Forbes has named WilmerHale partner Sonal N. Mehta to its inaugural list of America's Top Lawyers for AI, which recognizes what the publication calls "the top artificial intelligence practitioners in the country." Only fifty lawyers across the country were selected for this recognition. The honor follows Mehta's selection in September to Forbes' 2026 list of America's Top Lawyers.

Forbes selected honorees through a rigorous, multi-stage editorial process, evaluating candidates on factors such as reputation, industry honors, influence on the AI legal landscape, advocacy performance, client and peer feedback, thought leadership and involvement in significant matters.

Mehta is a trial lawyer who represents many of the world's leading technology companies in high-stakes disputes. Clients ranging from Silicon Valley's largest companies to cutting-edge startups call on her to serve as both lead counsel in the courtroom and trusted adviser in the boardroom. She litigates complex cases across antitrust, commercial, class action, false advertising, intellectual property, privacy and government-facing matters. She also leads WilmerHale's Palo Alto office as Partner-in-Charge and serves as Vice Chair of the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department.
