Jamie Gorelick has been named to Washingtonian's 2026 list of the Most Powerful Women in Washington, in the Legal Powers category. The list recognizes 300 of the most influential women in Washington who are shaping government, business, the arts, law, media, education and nonprofits. To build it, the magazine asked experts in every field which women are making things happen and driving change in the nation's capital. 

Gorelick is widely regarded as one of the nation's most distinguished lawyers. She has steered many Fortune 100 companies, major universities and public figures through high-stakes crises. Her practice covers a wide range of matters, including antitrust, environmental regulation, securities enforcement and national security regulation. She chaired and helped build WilmerHale's Regulatory and Government Affairs Department over a decade. 

Gorelick was one of the longest-serving Deputy Attorneys General of the United States. Before that, she was General Counsel of the Department of Defense. She also served on the bipartisan 9/11 Commission. She is Lead Independent Director of Amazon and chairs the Governance and Nominating Committee at Verisign.
