Peggy Otum and Sonal N. Mehta Recognized as Honorees in The Recorder's 2026 California Legal Awards

Partners Peggy Otum and Sonal N. Mehta have been named 2026 California Legal Award honorees by The Recorder

Otum, Co-Chair of the firm's Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Group, has been recognized as an honoree in the Distinguished Leader category, which honors leaders who have achieved significant milestones in the past year. Otum, who represents large corporations, public companies and universities in federal and state environmental enforcement matters and litigation, has over 20 years of experience in environmental enforcement defense and litigation, with a particular focus on crisis management. She currently serves as President of the Bar Association of San Francisco, is a fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers and serves on the Board of Directors of the Environmental Law Institute. 

Mehta, Partner-in-Charge of the firm's Palo Alto Office and Vice Chair of the Litigation/Controversy Department, has again been recognized as an honoree in the Women Leaders in Tech Law category, which honors top women attorneys whose recent achievements have significantly advanced technology companies and the legal field. Mehta is a trial lawyer representing many of the world's leading technology companies in high-stakes disputes, with nearly 25 years of experience across all aspects of trial and appellate practice, including federal and state jury and bench trials, international arbitrations, and appeals. Mehta has been regularly recognized as a Women Leader in Tech Law by The Recorder over the years.
