WilmerHale Partner Matthew B. Kulkin has been elected co‑chair of the CFTC Graduates Society (CFTCGS), a professional organization that supports engagement among current and former professionals of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He will serve alongside Carl Kennedy, a fellow CFTC alumnus and partner at another AmLaw 100 firm.
Founded in 2012, the CFTCGS is a District of Columbia non‑profit corporation focused on strengthening the CFTC alumni community through social programming, information‑sharing, and educational initiatives. As co‑chair, Kulkin will help guide the Society’s efforts to promote collaboration, professional development, and ongoing engagement among its members.
Kulkin chairs WilmerHale’s Futures and Derivatives Practice and brings nearly two decades of experience in government and private practice. Before joining the firm, he served as Director of the CFTC’s Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight, where he played a leading role in regulatory and enforcement initiatives affecting derivatives markets. His practice today focuses on advising financial market participants on complex regulatory, compliance and enforcement matters.
