Erik Swabb Elected to the NDIA Board of Directors

This month, Erik Swabb, a partner in WilmerHale’s Defense, National Security and Government Contracts Practice, was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), the leading trade association for the defense industry. The Board advises NDIA’s Executive Committee and is comprised of senior leaders from organizations that support national security and the defense industrial base.

For more than 100 years, NDIA has provided a platform through which leaders in government, industry and academia have collaborated and provided solutions to advance the national security and defense needs of the nation. NDIA has 1,700 corporate and 66,500 individual members, including the largest defense contractors, midsize firms, and emerging defense tech companies.

As a member of the Board, Swabb will contribute his perspective from two decades of national security experience in legal, policy and operational roles. His practice at WilmerHale focuses on high-stakes investigations and regulatory counseling related to defense, national security and government contracting. He conducts internal investigations and has successfully resolved inquiries by federal inspectors general, the Department of Justice, the Department of Defense, the Department of the Treasury, Congress and other government entities. Swabb previously served as General Counsel of the Senate Armed Services Committee and Special Adviser to the Legal Adviser of the Department of State. Before his legal career, he was a Marine infantry officer and served in combat in Iraq and in the UN peacekeeping mission in Liberia.
