Erika Schutzman Named a Rising Star at The American Lawyer’s 2025 New England Legal Awards

Recognition

Counsel Erika Schutzman was honored as a Rising Star at The American Lawyer’s 2025 New England Legal Awards. This prestigious recognition celebrates attorneys under the age of 40 who have demonstrated excellence in the courtroom, client service, and community engagement across the New England region.

Erika focuses her practice on complex litigation and securities enforcement, representing clients in high-stakes matters with precision and poise. She has been recognized by her peers in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Commercial Litigation (2024–2026) and was named to Boston Magazine’s Top Lawyers list in securities law (2023 and 2024).

Reflecting on her journey, Erika shared that one of her biggest challenges was learning to navigate fast-paced, complex litigation early in her career. “The work requires quick thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a lot at once,' she said. 'Each challenge has shaped how I advise clients today.”

She credits her growth to the mentorship she’s received at WilmerHale and the collaborative nature of the firm. “Being part of a team that’s committed to excellence and integrity has made the work more meaningful and has reinforced my commitment to being a lawyer.”

Looking ahead, Erika is focused on deepening her expertise in securities litigation and stepping into more leadership roles on complex cases. She also looks forward to continuing to be a mentor to junior attorneys navigating the early stages of their careers.
