The New York Times DealBook column recently featured comments from Special Counsel Petal Walker, formerly a chief counsel at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
The article “What’s Next for Crypto Regulation” notes Ms. Walker’s crypto regulatory “wants”—“A robust regulator to simplify the process for entrepreneurs” —and “dreads”—“Fear-driven regulation that’s not data-driven and stifles innovation.”
It also cites her prediction for a “person to watch”: Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler. “On the Hill, the SEC is seen as the top cop on the beat.”
