New York–based Senior Associate Ryanne Perio has been selected as WilmerHale's 2018 Pickering fellow.

Perio will begin her fellowship at the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in Montgomery, Alabama in early September. The SPLC seeks justice for the most vulnerable members of society through litigation, education and other forms of advocacy.

WilmerHale established the Pickering Fellowship in honor of John Pickering, a founding partner of the firm who inspired generations of lawyers with his commitment to the public interest. The fellowship gives lawyers from the firm’s US offices the opportunity to spend six months working at select public interest organizations.
