STEM for Her, a foundation that champions programs and initiatives that encourage girls and young women to pursue fields of study leading to careers in science, technology, engineering and math, elected Stephanie Evans to its Board of Directors. In this role, Evans will work alongside other board members to support the Foundation’s mission.

Evans, a partner in the firm’s Washington DC office, advises companies, boards and individuals on a wide range of corporate transactions, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and financings. Her clients include private and public companies in a variety of industries, including financial services, defense and technology. In addition, she is active with emerging growth companies throughout their development cycle.

“We are excited to welcome Stephanie Evans to the STEM for Her board. Her vast experience working with a variety of technology-driven companies will provide the legal and business insights we need to grow our outreach through mentoring programs that allow STEM for Her to impact the lives of hundreds of young women in the local community,” said Dr. Marian McKee, board chair.

“The importance of increasing the number of women in STEM fields can’t be overstated,” Evans said. “It’s not only essential for gender equality for more women to be in the pipeline for these relatively high paying jobs, but the entire economy benefits from the inclusion of women in these fields. I’m thrilled to be a part of the effort to make this happen.”

Evans is a member of the WilmerHale Asian Pacific Affinity Group and the firm's Diversity Committee. Evans is also active with the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.

Evans earned her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Baylor University and holds a JD degree from George Washington University Law School.
