Firm News

WilmerHale congratulates Counsel Raya Treiser on being named co-chair of the Public Land and Resources Committee of the ABA's Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources. As committee co-chair for a year, beginning August 7, 2017, Treiser will help make decisions regarding the ABA's approach to public land issues as it advocates on behalf of its members and provides them with continuing legal education.

“I am honored by this opportunity to serve the legal community and society at large,” said Treiser, a member of the firm's Regulatory and Government Affairs Department and Energy, Environment and Natural Resources (EENR) Practice. “How we deal with our public lands and their resources is among the most important question of our time, with the potential to affect many generations to come. To have a chance to meaningfully contribute to the ABA's work in this area is both exhilarating and humbling.”

“This is a big honor for Raya, WilmerHale and our EENR team,” said Andy Spielman, chair of the EENR Practice. “It's a much-deserved recognition for a lawyer who is a star in this field.”

Before joining the firm in 2015, Treiser worked in the Obama Administration as policy lead for the president's infrastructure initiative in the Office of Management and Budget and Office of the President. She also served in the US Department of the Interior as counselor to the Deputy Secretary.
