Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner recently announced a new plan to restore confidence in America’s financial institutions and correct the inadequacies of the Troubled Asset Relief Program. Geithner’s plan was light on specifics, but among the details known are that the government plans to implement a “stress test” for banks, establish a Public-Private Investment Fund, and create a trillion-dollar Consumer and Business Lending Initiative.
