Our nation is facing what may be the gravest economic crisis since the Great Depression. Unprecedented turmoil in the banking industry has had tumultuous effects upon the entire economy, and federal and state government agencies have responded by enacting several statutes and promulgating regulations and directives designed to relieve the credit crisis, help distressed borrowers, and institute consumer protection with the hope that the economy will rebound for the long haul. As these emergency relief programs play out, the impact on our economy is unpredictable. At this event, presented by PLI,a panel of expertswill address the recent tide of legislation and regulations, and their impending effect on the economic crisis.
WilmerHale partner Russ Bruemmer will be a featured speaker at this event, participating on two panels. The first panel will cover the topic of, "Initiatives By the Treasury, FDIC and Federal Reserve Bank of New York to Stem Credit Crisis." The second panel that Mr. Bruemmer will participate on is titled, "ABA Task Force and Financial Markets Regulatory Reform and Why Anyone Would Want to Own a Bank or Thrift and Who Qualifies."
