The Committee for Economic Development held its 2009 Distinguished Performance Awards Dinner on October 20, 2009 at The Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. CED is an independent, nonpartisan organization of senior corporate executives and university leaders dedicated to policy research on the major economic and social issues of our time and the implementation of its recommendations by the public and private sectors. Since its inception in 1942, CED has addressed national priorities that promote sustained economic growth and development to benefit all Americans. This Awards Dinner honored distinguished business leaders, including A.G. Lafley, Chairman of The Proctor & Gamble Company, who received the Peter G. Peterson Award for Business Statesmanship.
