The Financial Markets Association’s 30th annual fall conference is a valuable forum for banking and securities attorneys, senior compliance officers and regulators providing for an exchange of information, ideas and experiences on current hot topic regulatory and legislative/agency initiatives. Smith, who was also a member of the 2021 Program Planning Committee for the conference, will moderate the session “Digital Assets Regulatory Updates” on Friday, October 22 from 12:10–1:10 p.m. ET. This session will provide an overview of digital assets, including novel digital assets and use cases such as non-fungible tokens and decentralized finance; discuss the recent updates in the quickly evolving regulatory landscape for digital assets; and discuss the potential risks the industry faces and how these risks may shape the industry.
