"Spies" at School? Inside US Efforts to Curb China's Access and Influence in Higher Education

Stoopler, for a webinar that will review the federal government’s heightened scrutiny of academic institutions’ affiliations with China, including the Department of Justice’s (DOJ’s) “China Initiative” targeting academic researchers and institutions, the Department of Education’s (DOE’s) Section 117 investigations into undisclosed foreign financial support, the National Institutes of Health’s recent probes of Chinese influence in biomedical research, and congressional investigations into Chinese influence on academic campuses, including talent recruitment plans and Confucius Institutes. The panel will also address lessons to be learned from the China Initiative and other US government investigations.
