Department of Justice Workshop on Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act

The Justice Department will hold a public workshop titled “Section 230—Nurturing Innovation or Fostering Unaccountability?,” to discuss the evolution of Section 230 from its original purpose in granting limited immunity to Internet companies, its impact on the American people, and whether improvements to the law should be made. The workshop will consist of a series of panel discussions and will solicit the individual views of various participants.

Partner Patrick Carome will speak on a panel about litigating Section 230, which will cover the history, evolution and current application of Section 230 in private litigation.
