On Tuesday, June 12, Women in Derivatives (WIND) will host the event “Transforming Finance: The Impact of Emerging Technologies,” sponsored by WilmerHale and KPMG. As blockchain, smart contracts, digital assets, machine learning, natural language processing and other emerging technologies have grabbed the headlines, there will be an in-depth discussion of the real world applications of these technologies, practical and regulatory limitations, and their potential to transform finance as we know it.
The event will be held at WilmerHale’s DC office and will feature a keynote address by Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman J. Christopher Giancarlo, followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A session moderated by WilmerHale Special Counsel Petal Walker. Panelists include Chris Brummer of Georgetown Law, Isabelle Corbett of R3, Amy Davine Kim of Chamber of Digital Commerce and Sigrid Seibold of KPMG US. The event will conclude with a networking reception.
