Per – polyfluoralkyl compounds or substances (PFAS) have been used in a wide variety of products over the years, and have become a more urgent concern and topic of regulatory action nationwide. Join the Boston Bar Association to hear about the steps involved in developing EPA health advisories and drinking water Maximum Contaminant Levels for emerging contaminants, EPA’s national activities, as well as activities underway in Massachusetts including risk assessment analysis, monitoring and treatment to address these compounds by MassDEP and public water suppliers. The panel of speakers will include Rachel Jacobson of WilmerHale, C. Mark Smith of MassDEP’s Office of Research and Standards, and Douglas Fine of MassDEP’s Bureau of Water Resources.
