Cadene Russell

Cadene Russell focuses her practice on complex litigation matters. She has experience conducting internal investigations involving the US Department of Justice, and has advised on civil and criminal matters related to healthcare fraud and False Claims Act litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Russell served as a law clerk for the Honorable Carl E. Stewart, Chief Judge of the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

While pursuing her law degree, Ms. Russell was an intern in the Homicide Section of the US Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia and a judicial intern for the Honorable Emmet G. Sullivan of the US District Court for the District of Columbia. As a student attorney in Howard University School of Law's Civil Rights Clinic, Ms. Russell represented clients in Title VII employment discrimination and fair housing discrimination cases. She previously worked as a summer associate in the litigation and international trade practices of another prominent Washington DC law firm.

Before pursuing her legal education, Ms. Russell served as a judicial intern for the Honorable John McCabe of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, where she worked on child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and refugee asylum issues. She was a legislative intern for US Representatives Debbie Wasserman Schulz and Kendrick B. Meek. Previously, Ms. Russell was a project assistant at the firm, supporting securities, intellectual property and pro bono matters.

Ms. Russell shares the firm's commitment to pro bono work.
