Richard Andersen advised clients on the legal and tax aspects of international investments and cross‑border business transactions, bringing deep experience in international and tax law to a wide range of tax, transactional and financing issues. He retired from WilmerHale in 2022 after decades counseling US and international clients on domestic and international corporate reorganizations, acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and fund formation, as well as general corporate, partnership and financial matters.

Mr. Andersen also advised clients on the tax aspects of real estate transactions, corporate mergers and acquisitions and international infrastructure projects, including cross‑border cash flows and investor exit issues. His work extended to global investment structures and the growing reporting and disclosure obligations facing financial institutions and their clients. He taught international tax law at the NYU Graduate Tax Program and was active in professional organizations, including the International Bar Association, the International Fiscal Association, the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association, and served on several advisory boards within the tax field.
