Monica Grewal Elected President of the PTAB Bar Association

Partner Monica Grewal was elected President of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) Bar Association. Grewal, who is consistently recognized among the nation’s top intellectual property lawyers, has held several leadership positions on the association’s board since its inception in 2016. Most recently, Grewal served as President-elect of the organization. During her term she assisted in advancing the association’s mission and implementing its policies, procedures and programs. Grewal previously served as the secretary and founding director of the organization.

The PTAB Bar Association is the only bar association solely dedicated to practice before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. The organization aims to promote the highest professional and ethical standards among those who appear before the PTAB, and to coordinate continuing legal education, pro bono opportunities, career enhancement and scholarship activities for practitioners. The PTAB Bar Association is collaborative, congenial, inclusive, highly professional and community-centric.

Grewal’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, patent prosecution, counseling and post-grant proceedings. Major corporations and universities rely on her to build and protect strategic patent portfolios for biomedical, electrical, chemical, mechanical and business method patents involving a diverse array of technologies. She also litigates patents in the International Trade Commission and in the federal courts, where she has represented clients in cases involving computer software and hardware, medical devices, renewable energy, electronic devices and wireless communications technology, GPS technology, signal processing, and digital camera technology. Grewal represented clients in more than 50 proceedings before the PTAB.
