Bahal, Tasha J.

Tasha Bahal has represented clients in diverse industries, including financial services and technology. With regard to her financial services work, Ms. Bahal has conducted extensive state level research and advised clients on internal company policies and practices. With respect to the technology companies, Ms. Bahal defended several large companies in litigation involving multi-patent infringement claims. She participated in trial preparation, including preparing for and attending depositions, preparing witnesses for trial, drafting motions in limine and witness/exhibit lists, and conducting a mock trial.

Ms. Bahal has also represented clients involved in various kinds of investigations. She conducted witness interviews and provided legal advice during an examination conducted by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and she has been involved with fact discovery and representation of a client in a criminal grand jury investigation.

Ms. Bahal has also worked on several pro bono matters. Some of these matters include representing on appeal an individual convicted of murder; volunteering at the Boston Housing court on several occasions; and representing a juvenile seeking a restraining order against an abusive neighbor.

Experience

During law school, Ms. Bahal completed internships for the Honorable Chief Justice Mark L. Wolf of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and in Governor Deval Patrick’s Office of Legal Counsel. She also completed a Rappaport Fellowship where she researched the legal implications of municipal healthcare reform in the City of Somerville, Massachusetts and proposed recommendations for reducing the municipality’s healthcare expenditures.

Prior to beginning her legal studies, Ms. Bahal worked with Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone in his performance management initiative, studying financial, personnel, and operational data to supervise city departments, inform policy decisions, and convert the city’s line-item budget to a program-based budget. She also served as a crime analysis intern with the Boston Police Department where she prepared monthly evaluations of high crime areas and researched and responded to crime-related information requests.
