Moskowitz, Seth A.

Seth Moskowitz represents individuals, banks, financial services companies, and issuers of securities in class action litigation and investigations by state and federal regulators alleging violations of state and federal law and breaches of fiduciary duties. He has experience in all phases of civil litigation, including preparing witnesses for depositions, drafting a wide range of discovery and dispositive motions, conducting internal investigations, and managing the discovery process. He joined the firm in 2009.

Mr. Moskowitz also maintains an active pro bono practice. He advises clients seeking political asylum, and has represented individuals facing eviction in Boston housing court.

In 2014, Mr. Moskowitz served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, where he tried criminal cases to judges and juries, argued dispositive motions, and negotiated plea agreements with defense counsel.

Experience

During law school, Mr. Moskowitz completed internships for the Boston District Office of the SEC in the Division of Enforcement, and the Economic Crimes Unit at the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Masachusetts.

WilmerHale Team Takes First Place in Lawyers Have Heart 5K Boston

On May 30, a team of WilmerHale lawyers and staff participated in the 5th Annual Boston Lawyers Have Heart 5K Road Race…and won!

Recent Highlights

  • Successfully defended major financial services company against consumer fraud class action in federal civil jury trial;
  • Obtained a favorable settlement for executive in revenue recognition case filed by Securities and Exchange Commission;
  • Represented executive of publicly traded company during a FINRA/SEC insider trading investigation; and
  • Represented financial services company in cases related to transfer of assets to prime broker and prime broker’s subsequent bankruptcy.

Community Involvement

Mr. Moskowitz is a member of the firm’s Community Service Committee, which helps organize volunteer opportunities for lawyers and staff. He is also involved with the mock trial and moot court programs run by the firm in connection with Discovering Justice and Citizen Schools. Mr. Moskowitz also sits on the Development Committee for a charter school in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
