A sampling of our work on tenant/operator matters includes:

  • Representing two of the world's largest retail companies in site assembly, acquisitions, ground leases, permitting and the development of more than 200 new stores, expansions and conversion projects throughout New England and the mid-Atlantic region. In connection with this work, we have also negotiated operating and easement agreements and restrictive covenants with virtually all major anchors and junior anchors in the United States.
  • Representing a national grocery store chain in the redevelopment of underperforming urban stores into state-of-the-art mixed-use projects, with high-rise residential projects located above ground-floor grocery stores.
  • Representing a regional sporting goods chain on leases in New York, Washington DC, Maryland, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
  • Representing a restaurant company in its expansion into New England.
  • Providing a complete spectrum of commercial leasing services to an international retailer with approximately 120 stores in North America.

A sampling of our work on landlord/owner matters includes:

  • Representing landlords, investors and lenders in numerous shopping center and community center projects, including Faneuil Hall, the Prudential Center, the Solomon Pond Mall and the Square One Mall in Massachusetts, and the Crossroads at Buckland Hills and Hale Road Shopping Center comprising 350,000 square feet of retail space in Connecticut. 
  • Representing an investor in the acquisition of a $60 million portfolio of nine strip shopping centers in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Florida. 
  • Representing landlords in leasing transactions with a multitude of national retail companies, including Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, J.C. Penney, Starbucks and T-Mobile.
  • Representing the acquirer of the Arsenal Mall in Watertown, Massachusetts in three separate transactions totaling $82 million.
  • Representing the investor in a strategic joint venture to acquire a portfolio of five retail stores in four states.
  • Representing the investor in a strategic joint venture to acquire a 160,000-square-foot shopping center in Texas.
