Experience

We represent numerous private equity and institutional investors in joint ventures with operators and developers. Representative transactions include:

  • the formation of numerous joint ventures with different senior housing operators to acquire and develop more than $500 million of senior housing projects;
  • the formation of a partnership with a developer to acquire Boston's historic Ames Building, which was then converted into a boutique hotel;
  • the acquisition of interests in partnerships that own two premier office buildings in Boston's Back Bay; and
  • the formation of a joint venture to acquire a multi-tenant office building in Reading, Massachusetts.

We represent numerous operators and developers in joint ventures with private equity and institutional investors. Representative transactions include:

  • the formation of a $900 million joint venture with a publicly traded healthcare REIT to operate and develop senior housing communities;
  • the formation of a Sharia'h-compliant joint venture with a Middle Eastern financial institution to acquire a $70 million continuing care retirement community;
  • the formation of a joint venture with a real estate capital partner to acquire a nine-building, 600,000-square-foot portfolio of commercial properties in Greater Boston;
  • the formation of a joint venture with a private equity investor to redevelop Boston's historic Charles Street Jail as the Liberty Hotel; 
  • the formation of a joint venture with a private equity firm investing on behalf of union pension funds to acquire a portfolio of nine senior housing facilities; and
  • the formation of a joint venture with a private equity investor to acquire a Sheraton Hotel in Braintree, Massachusetts.
