Representative transactions include:

  • Representing the developer of a 56-story tower containing a luxury hotel and condominiums in Boston's Back Bay, which will be the third tallest building in Boston.
  • Representing the owner and operator of one of Boston's major hotels and its related theater, restaurant and garage complex for four decades in connection with construction, operation, financing and repositioning.
  • Representing the developer in the conversion of Boston's historic Charles Street Jail into the acclaimed Liberty Hotel, including the acquisition, design, construction, permitting, financing and recapitalization of the project.
  • Representing a client on a multi-billion dollar coastal development in Asia to be anchored by a resort casino and to include tens of thousands of square feet of residential, office and retail space, a sports arena and a championship golf course.
  • Representing the developer and operator of hotels in Cambridge and Braintree, Massachusetts, and San Francisco, California.
  • Representing an investor in the acquisition of a hotel in Los Angeles, California and the repositioning of a hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
  • Representing a private equity firm in the formation of a partnership to acquire and convert Boston's historic Ames Building into a boutique hotel.
  • Representing an offshore investor in the acquisition of a Rocky Mountain luxury hotel out of bankruptcy.
  • Advising a European agency lender in connection with the foreclosure of a $500 million construction mortgage loan on a resort project in Colorado and the workout of a $300 million distressed loan secured by a resort hotel in Mexico.
  • Representing the purchaser of land and development rights for a 180-unit luxury residential and golf community in suburban Boston.
  • Representing a private equity firm in the redevelopment and sale of Boston's Russia Wharf as a 900,000-square foot mixed-use hotel, office and residential project.
  • Representing a research university in connection with the restructuring of financing, leasing and management of a facility, including a hotel, restaurants, parking, golf facilities and other amenities adjacent to its campus.
