The Berlin public policy team counsels on complex projects that relate to the public sphere. For example, we:

• Provide advice in politically sensitive transactions and infrastructural projects, especially in regulated markets such as the energy, communication and transport industries.
• Realize public private partnerships (PPP) by offering support services to both private entities and the public sector to ensure the successful design of joint projects.
• Provide advice in privatization processes by offering consulting services for selling, restructuring and privatizing processes, both for the acquiring party and the selling party.
• Advise on the national implementation of EU directives, including representing companies and associations on the implementation of the EU End of Life Vehicles Directive, the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive and the EU Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive. We are also strongly involved in designing the collective return system for the can deposit program.
• Strategically develop alternative proposals in drawing up and implementing new laws.
• Provide legal analysis and categorize, in terms of their strategic political orientation, legislative projects in Germany and Europe. We have advised investment banks in evaluating new regulations that were planned in various policy fields, while consulting equity investment companies on legislative initiatives in tax policy.
• the German team represented the German foundation initiative (Stiftungsinitiative der deutschen Wirtschaft) in its negotiations with international partners on the compensation of former forced laborers under National Socialism, which led to the establishment of the German foundation "Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Zukunft ” (Remembering, Responsibility and the Future) while ensuring legal security for German companies in the United States.
