Lauren Mangano Drenkard's practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of domestic, international and foreign patent applications. Dr. Mangano Drenkard works with a variety of clients, including those in the technology and healthcare sectors. Additionally, she has experience with freedom to operate and patent searching, as well as invalidity and infringement analysis for patent litigation and inter partes review proceedings at the Patent Trial and Appeals Board.

Prior to joining WilmerHale, Dr. Mangano Drenkard was an assistant licensing manager in the Office of Research Commercialization at Rutgers. While there, she was responsible for more than 80 technology dockets related to physical sciences, engineering, materials and medical devices.

While a PhD candidate and NSF Graduate Research Fellow at Boston University, Dr. Mangano Drenkard developed novel imaging and image processing methods for the non-destructive, quantitative assessment of cartilage. She also established new research direction, developed new protocols for mechanical testing of the fracture callus, and collaborated with researchers at Boston University Medical School.
