Joshua Stern's practice focuses on intellectual property and complex commercial litigation. Mr. Stern has represented clients in US district courts and the US International Trade Commission. Mr. Stern has also counseled clients and assisted with matters before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, including inter partes review proceedings. His cases have involved a wide array of technologies including medical devices, small molecule and biologic pharmaceuticals, nucleic acid detection, microprocessors, wireless location, data storage and mobile phone software.

Prior to joining WilmerHale, Mr. Stern was a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City, where he focused on complex commercial litigation. 

While in law school, Mr. Stern served as an extern to the Office of the General Counsel for the Federal Election Commission, where he researched enforcement actions and drafted reports for presentation to the Commission.

Professional Activities

Mr. Stern is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York, the District of New Jersey and the District of Massachusetts.
