John Westcott was a partner in the Corporate Practice Group. He joined the firm in 1969 and retired in 2012.
Mr. Westcott has more than 40 years of experience as a corporate and securities lawyer, having served as counsel for a broad range of private and public clients. The emphasis of his practice has been counseling corporate clients and their management on financing, governance and transactional matters, including private and public offerings, licensing transactions and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Westcott's clients have included:

- Passkey International, Inc.
- The Winsor School
In addition to his domestic practice, Mr. Westcott has represented a number of international clients, principally in connection with their investment in businesses in the United States or their licensing and distribution of products in this country, including:
- Pronova Biocare AS
- Hafslund Nycomed AS
As a former assistant managing partner of WilmerHale, Mr. Westcott was involved in the daily management of the firm's business and professional affairs.
Mr. Westcott has been a trustee and clerk of The Winsor School, an independent school for girls in Boston, since 1989.
Professional ActivitiesMr. Westcott has participated in a number of national panels concerning the business and professional management of law firms and has spoken and written frequently on law firm management and partner compensation.
Honors & AwardsMr. Westcott was recognized in the November 2004 edition of Boston Magazine as a "Massachusetts Super Lawyer" in business law.
