Jeffrey Rudman is a nationally recognized authority on defending shareholder class actions and corporate governance. He is regularly cited by a variety of guides and directories to the legal profession.

The 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008 editions of Chambers USA list him as a star individual. In the 2014 edition of the guide, clients say Mr. Rudman is "at the top of his game" and "very thorough, controlled and effective." The 2013 edition of Chambers calls Mr. Rudman an "encyclopedia of experience and knowledge," while the 2012 guide describes him as a "standout performer" with "a tremendous level of knowledge." The 2011 Chambers describes him as "a real force at the local Bar." The 2010 Chambers says he is "smart and zealous" and deemed "the dean of the securities Bar." The 2009 Chambers says, "When it comes to securities litigation, clients reserve the highest praise for [his] courtroom advocacy: 'He’s just a stellar defense lawyer, absolutely superb.'" The 2008 edition of Chambers USA offers quotes that he is "a genius" with "one of the best grasps of the English language you are ever likely to come across” and “a towering figure in the courtroom." The 2009 edition of the Legal 500 describes him as "[a] legal scholar and a ferocious advocate." Benchmark Litigation 2012 calls him "an esteemed securities lawyer."

The Boston Globe has referred to Mr. Rudman as "the lawyer...companies call when they get into trouble with their stock." He has been listed in every edition of the Best Lawyers in America and was selected as one of the "500 Leading Lawyers and Judges in America" by Lawdragon Magazine which described him as "steely" and a "standout in both securities litigation and enforcement work."

Mr. Rudman has represented public companies and/or their officers and directors across the country. These companies include: Medtronic, Red Hat, Juniper Networks, Brocade, State Street, John Hancock, Massachusetts Financial Services, Putnam Investments, Sonus Networks, Sepracor, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Analog Devices, Staples, First Marblehead, Savings Bank Life Insurance, and many investment banks.

Professional Activities

Mr. Rudman currently serves as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Boston Public Library. The Boston Globe said of his stewardship that he is "the exact kind of person you want running a library system, thoughtful and full of integrity." He also serves as an Appointed Trustee of the Museum of Fine Arts. For many years he administered the Rhodes Scholarship selection process in New England.

He lectures frequently on securities litigation, fiduciary duty, corporate governance, and related topics.
