Harriet Hoder

Harriet Hoder has a general litigation practice with a focus on complex commercial litigation and securities litigation. She has represented major investment banks and large corporations in state and federal court litigation. Ms. Hoder has been involved in briefing for matters involving a wide range of issues of both federal and state law, including contract, securities, immigration and criminal law.

Ms. Hoder also maintains an active pro bono practice. Most recently, she aided in the representation of a class of plaintiffs in an immigration matter before the United States Supreme Court.

Past Experience

Prior to joining WilmerHale, Ms. Hoder was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Michael A. Chagares of the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and for the Honorable Nathaniel M. Gorton of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

In 2009, Ms. Hoder was a legal intern with the Office of the Prosecutor at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. While there, she assisted with a war crimes prosecution arising out of alleged violations of international criminal law. Also during law school, Ms. Hoder worked on special education, care and protection, and juvenile justice matters as an Equal Justice America Fellow at the Children’s Law Center.

Professional Activities

Ms. Hoder is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the US Supreme Court, the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the US Courts of Appeals for the First and Third Circuits. Ms. Hoder is also a member of the Boston Bar Association and the Women's Bar Association, and is a member of the WBA Amicus Committee.
