Benjamin Chapin represents financial institutions, other commercial clients, and individuals in a wide array of regulatory and enforcement matters, civil litigation and internal investigations.

In his regulatory and enforcement practice, Mr. Chapin has represented clients in public and non-public matters involving the CFPB, FTC, SEC, DOJ, FINRA, state attorneys general and other state agencies. He has represented clients on a wide array of issues, including consumer protection, fair lending, mortgage servicing, auto lending, anti-money laundering, electronic funds transfers, securities fraud and antitrust enforcement, among other issues.

In his litigation practice, Mr. Chapin has represented clients in high-stakes cases in federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings. He has litigated cases for commercial and individual clients subject to claims under federal and state consumer protection statutes, the Securities Exchange Act, RICO, False Claims Act and Sherman Act, as well as an array of contract and tort claims. Mr. Chapin also advises clients in connection with high-profile congressional and internal investigations, in addition to counseling clients on regulatory compliance and risk management.

In addition, Mr. Chapin maintains an active pro bono practice.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Chapin served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nicholas G. Garaufis of the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He previously worked at a law firm in New York.
