Benjamin Conery’s practice focuses on white-collar defense, investigations and litigation, particularly against the government. He has guided clients through grand jury proceedings, civil investigative demands and investigations involving federal agencies ranging from the Department of Justice to the Federal Trade Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission to the Department of Homeland Security, as well as assisted clients in navigating matters involving state Attorneys General and industry regulators such as FINRA. Mr. Conery handles False Claims Act cases, especially involving the Anti-Kickback Statute and the use of business visas, and consumer protection matters. 

Mr. Conery has participated in all aspects of litigation from directing pre-trial electronic discovery, taking and defending depositions, and drafting dispositive motions to trial and appellate work. His courtroom experience includes civil and criminal trials involving mail fraud, visa fraud, and contract disputes. He has represented clients in racketeering, insider trading and securities fraud cases in jurisdictions throughout the country. His clients span across industries and include technology firms, life sciences companies and financial institutions. 

Mr. Conery has considerable experience involving corporate compliance monitorships, having worked both to support and navigate compliance monitorships.

Mr. Conery maintains a robust pro bono practice, with a special emphasis on providing legal services to low-income clients, criminal defense, and immigration. He has helped his clients obtain Social Security, unemployment and other benefits, and assisted them in navigating issues related to housing and criminal records, among other matters. Mr. Conery joined the firm in 2015, after serving as a law clerk for Chief Justice Phillip Rapoza of the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
