Ari J. Savitzky

Ari Savitzky focuses his practice on appellate matters and complex commercial and government-facing litigation. He has been involved in briefing and oral argument in the US Supreme Court and state and federal trial and appellate courts for matters related to antitrust law, bankruptcy litigation, complex procedural issues and class actions, constitutional law, intellectual property law, securities law and voting rights and civil rights law, among other issues. Mr. Savitzky has presented oral argument before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Savitzky joined the firm in 2013 after serving as a law clerk to the Hon. Raymond J. Lohier, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Hon. John G. Koeltl of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Prior to joining WilmerHale, Mr. Savitzky also served as a special counsel on the staff of the Moreland Commission to Investigate Public Corruption in New York. During law school, Mr. Savitzky served as a summer associate for a prominent law firm in New York City. He also worked as a law clerk for Project Vote in Washington DC, where he helped litigate challenges to violations of the National Voter Registration Act.

Before law school, Mr. Savitzky founded FairVote Rhode Island, where he led a successful campaign to lower the voter registration age to 16, among other efforts. He has worked as a writer, campaign manager and organizer for several candidates and elected officials in Rhode Island, and as a copy editor for an English language weekly in Beijing
