Andrew Sokol

Andrew Sokol has a general litigation practice with an emphasis on complex commercial litigation. He has represented banks, broker-dealers, other financial services firms, and individual clients in a wide variety of matters including class actions, jury trials in state and federal courts, and arbitrations. He has also represented clients in connection with inquiries conducted by the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and other US and international agencies.

Mr. Sokol maintains an active pro bono practice, including the representation of a domestic worker in an action brought under the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act, and of an incarcerated individual in a Section 1983 action concerning the denial of medical care related to gender dysphoria.

Recognition

  • Upon graduation from University of Pennsylvania Law School, Mr. Sokol was awarded the Fred G. Leebron Memorial Prize (for best paper in the field of constitutional law), the James J. Manderino Award (for excellence in trial advocacy), the Clinical Legal Educators Association Outstanding Clinical Student Award, and the Exemplary Pro Bono Service Award.
