Alison Burton
Counsel
Alison Burton focuses her practice on complex litigation matters, particularly intellectual property disputes. Ms. Burton has represented clients in patent cases involving a variety of technologies, such as pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and smartphones. Ms. Burton has experience with all phases of litigation, including fact and expert discovery, motion practice, claim construction, trial, and appeal.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Burton was an intern in the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. While there, she researched and drafted memoranda on issues including firearm exportation, the domesticity of securities and expert testimony. She also assisted with evidence preparation and attended court proceedings, including a narcotics trial. While attending Harvard Law School, Ms. Burton was a student attorney in the Harvard Prison Legal Assistance Program. She also worked at Harvard's Domestic Violence and Family Law Clinic.
Before law school, Ms. Burton served as a middle school science teacher with Teach for America at a school in Kansas City, Missouri.
