WilmerHale Named to The National Law Journal's Appellate Hot List for the 10th Consecutive Year

Firm News

For the 10th consecutive year, The National Law Journal named WilmerHale among the best of the nation's firms with significant appellate practices, giving it a spot on the publication's 2017 Appellate Hot List.

“Our 2017 special report features an elite group of lawyers and law firms that posted hard-fought wins at the US Supreme Court or in federal circuit courts,” The National Law Journal said of the 20 firms on the list.

As part of the special report, appellate practice leaders from each listed firm were asked for the keys to their appellate team's successes. Seth Waxman, co-chair of WilmerHale's Appellate and Supreme Court Litigation Practice, pointed to the lengths to which his practice's members go to prepare for arguments as playing a significant role in their success.

“There is no substitute for meticulous work and intensive preparation,” he said. “Each year we renew our commitment to this principle, thoroughly testing and reviewing every possible argument to the point where even an extra week of preparation wouldn't make for a better argument.”
