WilmerHale Partner Anjan Sahni, a member of the firm's Investigations and Criminal Litigation and Securities Litigation and Enforcement Groups, is one of 41 newly elected members of The American Law Institute (ALI).
The ALI is an independent, nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia dedicated to scholarly work to clarify, modernize and improve the law. Elected members consist of judges, lawyers and law professors from across the country. Sahni has joined the Members Consultative Group for the ALI's project on Principles of Law: Compliance, Enforcement and Risk Management.
The addition of Sahni means that WilmerHale has 16 ALI members currently. These include former Co-Managing Partner William Lee; Partners Molly Boast, Gary Born, David Bowker, Jonathan Cedarbaum, Mark Fleming, Jamie Gorelick, Lori Martin, James Quarles and Seth Waxman; Senior Counsels James Carter and Louis Cohen; Special Counsel Mark Rotenberg; and Retired Partners Russell Bruemmer and John Christie, Jr.
Sahni rejoined WilmerHale in 2015 after serving for more than a decade as a federal prosecutor in the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY). While at the SDNY, Sahni served as the chief of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force, and, previously, as co-chief of the Terrorism and International Narcotics Unit.
