Kimberly Parker Honored by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists for Distinguished Service

May 24, 2016

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) voted unanimously to select Partner Kimberly Parker as the recipient of its Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the advancement of women's health and the practice of obstetrics and gynecology.

For more than 15 years, Parker has led teams of WilmerHale lawyers representing the ACOG on a pro bono basis. On behalf of the college, Parker has filed friend-of-the-court briefs in legal cases throughout the country affecting women's healthcare. These influential briefs have been cited by numerous courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States, seeking authoritative medical information regarding childbirth, abortion and other reproductive health services. Through the work of Parker and WilmerHale, ACOG has been able to lend its powerful voice to critical cases involving laws that regulate the practice of medicine and impact women's health.

Parker was presented with the award at the ACOG's 2016 Presidential Inauguration and Convocation on May 17 in Washington DC.
