Jamie Gorelick and Jennifer O’Connor Named Among Benchmark Litigation’s Top 250 Women in Litigation

July 23, 2012

Partners Jamie Gorelick and Jennifer O’Connor were selected for inclusion in Benchmark Litigation’s first edition of “Top 250 Women in Litigation.” Inaugurated in June 2012, the guide honors 250 female litigators across the US for their achievements in the field.

Gorelick was noted for her “extensive government career.” She represents individuals and companies in some of the most important legal and policy debates of our time. Gorelick has been a pioneer as a leading criminal and civil litigator, one of the first women partners in Washington DC, and has since been a leader in pro bono service, President of the DC Bar, and a senior lawyer in the public sector helping to lead the two largest law firms in the world—at the Departments of Defense and Justice. She was one of the longest serving Deputy Attorneys General of the US. Having dedicated her professional life to pro bono efforts, service to our clients and service to our country, Gorelick embodies the core values of the legal profession.

O’Connor was recognized for her “strategic counsel on white-collar and securities matters, as well as trying cases at the appellate level.” Her practice typically involves defense and advising in high-profile litigation and investigations. She has garnered much of her success representing clients in fraud, securities and other criminal litigation with a special emphasis in False Claims Act litigation. Prior to joining WilmerHale, Ms. O’Connor served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy in the United States Department of Labor.

The women featured in “Top 250 Women in Litigation” were selected based on extensive client and peer interviews by the publication’s editorial team. The guide will be distributed with Benchmark Litigation book in September, and at key events such as the National Association of Women Lawyers Annual Meeting in New York on July 18-19 and the ABA Annual Meeting on August 3-4 in Chicago.
