On December 12, 2007 the Court of First Instance of the EU reduced by 90% (from €10.38mn to €1.870mn) the fine imposed by the European Commission on UCB for participating with AKZO and BASF in the choline chloride cartel. The Court also ordered the European Commission to pay 90% of the costs incurred by UCB. The Court also increased the amount of the fine imposed by the European Commission on BASF from €34.97mn to €35.024mn.
