The Bar Association of the District of Columbia (BADC) has selected WilmerHale to receive its 19th Annual Constance L. Belfiore Quality of Life Award, which honors law firms and legal departments that recognize the importance of quality of life as well as professional excellence.
The award was presented on September 7, 2016 at the BADC's 145th Annual Luncheon. The selection committee chose WilmerHale to receive this honor on the basis of its commitment to pro bono work, diversity and inclusion, career development, and flexible work-schedule options for attorneys and staff.
Catherine Carroll, partner-in-charge of the Washington DC office and a member of the firm's Associates Committee, Hiring Committee and Women's Leadership Initiative, says, “This award recognizes the great work done by attorneys and staff every day to create a workplace that we all value.”
She joined Nimesh Patel, the firm's director of diversity and inclusion, to accept the award at the BADC luncheon. “Life in a large law firm is fast paced and can be intense,” says Patel, “but ultimately it's about all of us helping each other to achieve a quality of life that includes excellent client service, professional growth, and taking care of family and other personal priorities.”
