Mark Selwyn Joins the California Bar Foundation's Board of Directors

Firm News

On March 16, the California Bar Foundation—the center of philanthropy for California's legal community—announced that Partner Mark Selwyn is among the newest members of its board of directors. The foundation is comprised of California's top legal minds and influential donors who are dedicated to bettering the California justice system.

“We are thrilled to welcome such a well-respected and accomplished group of new board members and to enjoy the continued dedication and experience of our reappointed board members,” said Julie Taylor, president of the California Bar Foundation and partner with the international law firm Keesal, Young & Logan. “They bring a wide range of professional experience, expertise and networks that will benefit the foundation and enable us to effectively carry out our work of ensuring that the California justice system serves all Californians.”

Mr. Selwyn and the firm have a strong history with  the California Bar Foundation. Last year, WilmerHale, along with Intel Corporation and the Equal Justice Society, received the 2015 Leading Change Diversity Award—an annual award that honors leaders in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

Since 1990, the California Bar Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has provided grants, educational services and other resources to law students, courts, associations and public charities. Through various scholarships, such as the 1L Diversity Scholarship and the 3L Diversity Scholarship, the foundation empowers law students to become involved in the community and encourages them to pursue work that benefits the socially and economically disadvantaged.
