Daily Journal Honors Three Partners Among Top IP Lawyers in California

Firm News

Partners David Marcus, Mark Selwyn and Keith Slenkovich have been named to the Daily Journal's annual list of California's Top Intellectual Property Lawyers, which recognizes attorney achievements in the field of intellectual property from successfully arguing novel theories of law and winning significant cases to protect client portfolios.

Marcus, vice chair of the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, is featured for the second year in a row. The Daily Journal cites his work before the Federal Circuit, the nation's top patent appeals court, and describes two significant wins on behalf of Intel Corp. The first win was against plaintiff American Radio LLC and the second win was against Power Management Solutions LLC.

This year marks the eighth year that Selwyn, co-chair of the IP Litigation Group, has been included on this prestigious list. Selwyn led the management of the worldwide defense of a tech giant against widely known patent infringement claims.

Slenkovich is highlighted by the Daily Journal for his success on behalf of client MediaTek against Freescale Semiconductor. After several patent cases were filed by Freescale against MediaTek and its customers, MediaTek countersued. During trial on MediaTek's countersuit, MediaTek's principal patent was found valid, paving the way for MediaTek to achieve a worldwide settlement and dismissal of all actions against MediaTek and its customers. This is the second year that Slenkovich has been named to the list.
