Firm News

Sanctuary for Families, New York State's leading service provider for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking and other related forms of gender violence, honored a group of WilmerHale lawyers for the third consecutive year with an Above & Beyond Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Advocacy.

WilmerHale Partners David Lesser, Sarah Pfuhl; Counsel Dino LaVerghetta, Allison Snyder; and Senior Associates Brook Hopkins and Elisabeth Oppenheimer were honored for continuously supporting Sanctuary's Legal Center attorneys in representing and advising more than 5,000 domestic violence and trafficking survivors. Cases involve orders of protection, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, divorce, prosecution of batterers and an array of complex immigration and asylum matters.

WilmerHale honorees were celebrated during the organization's annual Above & Beyond Pro Bono Awards benefit on October 19 at The Highline Ballroom in New York.
