Three WilmerHale Lawyers Named "Best of the Best"; Gary Born Voted World's Best International Litigator

WilmerHale is pleased to announce that three of the firm’s lawyers have been recognized by Legal Media Group’s 2006 guide entitled, Best of the Best, as being preeminent practitioners in their practice areas.Gary Born and Roger Witten were named in the Best of the Best in litigation, while William Kolasky was named to the antitrust and competition list.

Mr. Born was honored by his peers as the world’s leading litigator, receiving more nominations than any other candidate in a detailed survey of international legal practitioners, in-house counsel, and academics by Legal Media Group. Mr. Born chairs WilmerHale’s International Dispute Resolution and Arbitration practices and is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities in both fields. He has been lead counsel in more than 300 international arbitrations and litigations, and is the author of several leading works on international arbitration and litigation, including, International Commercial Arbitration (2d ed. 2000 Kluwer/Transnational Publishers), and International Arbitration and Forum Selection Clauses (2d ed. 2006 Kluwer). His most recent book, International Civil Litigation in U.S. Courts (4th ed. 2006), will be released by Aspen Publishers this summer. Mr. Kolasky is the co-chair of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Department. Prior to his joining WilmerHale, he served as the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for International Enforcement in the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice from 2001 to 2002. He is credited with being one of the architects of the new International Competition Network, a network of more than 80 competition authorities worldwide designed to promote international cooperation and convergence and to streamline the multinational merger review process.

Mr. Witten co-chairs WilmerHale’s International Litigation group. He has led teams of lawyers in several of the firm's largest and most noteworthy litigation cases, representing clients such as Titan, the Audit Committee of Royal Ahold, NV, DaimlerChrysler, General Electric, and UBS AG. He is one of the leading practitioners in the country in FCPA compliance and enforcement matters and is co-author of the treatise Complying with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (5th ed. 2005).
