WilmerHale's Los Angeles office is dedicated to assisting clients with their most significant and complex trials, business disputes, government and regulatory investigations, and corporate transactions. Established in 2007, the Los Angeles office was built upon the firm's guiding principles of excellence in our legal work and our client service, a collaborative and collegial environment, dedication to diversity, and a commitment to public service.

Our Los Angeles-based lawyers have a wide range of experience, including trying numerous cases to juries, defending clients in investigations and prosecutions by the US Securities and Exchange Commission and the US Department of Justice, protecting companies' most important intellectual property, conducting investigations of potential Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations around the world, and providing corporate counseling and transactional advice on mergers and acquisitions and venture capital investments. We have experience in California state courts and federal district and appellate courts around the country, as well as in arbitrations and mediations. A diverse range of clients turn to our lawyers for counseling on high-stakes and high-profile issues, including major public companies, media and entertainment studios, broker-dealers and investment management firms, technology companies, corporate officers and directors, and investors and entrepreneurs.

Our clients benefit from the insights and judgment that lawyers with prior high-level government service bring to bear. Led by the former Regional Director of the Pacific Region of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, who was previously an Assistant United States Attorney, the Los Angeles office includes a former Associate Regional Director and head of the enforcement program for the SEC's Los Angeles Regional Office, an Executive Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California, and an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of California. Additionally, nearly half of our lawyers were law clerks to federal judges.

Our Los Angeles-based lawyers share the firm's commitment to pro bono representation and community service. We actively encourage our lawyers to give back to the community through pro bono work, service to the bar, and participation in charitable organizations and public institutions.

WilmerHale's Los Angeles office encompasses the entrepreneurial spirit, camaraderie and collegiality of a small office, backed by the capabilities and depth of a leading global law firm. Our lawyers regularly draw upon the knowledge and resources of the entire firm, and seamlessly work with colleagues around the world to serve the interests of our clients, wherever they are located. We pride ourselves on a culture in which every lawyer feels—and acts—as if he or she has a stake in the success of the office.
